From Presley...

Hello! I am Presley, I'm a 7-year old Shepherd/Lab mix and I stayed at the Looking Glass Inn with my mom Janine on Friday August 5th. It as our first time at the Inn and we'll definitely be back!

I felt so at home and welcomed at the Looking Glass. I knew we had found a great place to stay when we walked into the office and noticed the stack of dog beds and doggie baskets filled with treats and other doggie necessities that came in super handy! I also got several treats while mom was checking in, sweet!

This is me and the picture below is the basket they gave me!
I also loved the screen door for the room. Mom left the door open while she unpacked so I could watch what was going on outside without getting tempted to wander outside, pretty neat! The neighbor dog, a yellow lab, liked it too and so we'd be watching all the outside activity, side by side, each of us in our room looking out through the screen.

Mom and I hung out at the beach for awhile in the early evening. We watched the seagulls dive for fish and catch some! I had fun "doggie watching," there was a poodle named 'Lucky' who got into the water to get nice and wet, then rolled around in the sand afterwards, crazy! We laughed so hard at that! But the best part was the tummy rub I got while I took a snooze in the cool sand.
These are pictures of me again!

Well we had a great weekend! Thank You!

PS: Thanks for suggesting the Drift Creek Falls hike to my mom, we really enjoyed the well-maintained trail, the suspension bridge and the falls, pretty neat!

This last picture is of me and my mom on the suspension bridge!

Meet our guest Piper!

This is Piper enjoying the Looking Glass and the beach!
And here is note from her Mom and Dad....
This was Piper's first time at the ocean and she had lots of fun and met new friends. The Looking Glass is one of the best places we have stayed. We loved that it is so dog friendly! I'm sure we will be back again. The Tsunami scare added a little excitement and we were glad to hear that it didn't hit hard there.
Thanks so much for the early warning.
We will be sure to recommend the Looking Glass to our friends!
My people and I had a lot of fun, despite the weather.
Thank you for helping us enjoy our time there.
Also thank you for the special basket just for me!
I had so much fun climbing on the driftwood.

I think I see seals out there.

Dad and I on the beach.

I had a great time running on the dunes.

Sure is nice to relax after a run on the beach.

Mom and I enjoying some quiet time.

Chance!

What a beautiful photo Chance!  Thanks for sending it!
Here's a note from the family of this beautiful dog...
We have been visiting since Chance was 1 year old. He just turned 3 on February 28th 2011. The Looking Glass is his very favorite place to go. The staff all make him feel so special and like one of the family. We are all looking forward to the next time.
See you soon!

Introducing Barney and Clyde!

Barney is on the left and Clyde is on the right and they had a great time during Clyde's first visit to the Looking Glass Inn. Can you tell who the land-dog is and who is the sea-dog?
Thank you Looking Glass for everything you do for us dogs and our people!
Fondly, Barney and Clyde

This is not your average dog!

Meet Stella! Stella is a very special guest of the Looking Glass and has sent us this picture of herself relaxing around her own home. She doesn't seem to want her picture taken while she stays with us. Not yet anyway.

Milo is 2!!

This is Max and Milo and Milo is on the right.
Milo and his brother Max came to spend his birthday with Us!
Here are the comments Milo's family left us after their recent "birthday stay".... "it was such a special weekend for all of us, very nice that the time was taken to make Milo the nice birthday greeting. He also had a comfy doggie bed, treats (which he was nice enough to share with his brother Max.) We always love spending time at the Looking Glass with our boys, I know we'll be up that way again before too long."

Meet Eddie!

"Edgar" has stayed at the Looking Glass Inn many times but these are his first "public" photos on our Dog Blog.

Come back soon Eddie!
U R SO SPECIAL!

From the family of "Dexter"...

In October of 2010 we were blessed to adopt our boy Dexter.
He's a minature American Eskimo who fit right into our family. My children and I take a beach weekend trip every February and we were worried that we would have to leave Dexter at a kennel when we took our annual trip, which would have made us feel like a family member short.
Luckily, we found The Looking Glass Inn! When we saw that you were dog friendly and directly across the street from our favorite Mo's Clam Chowder location, we were in heaven.
The whole family, Dexter included, loved every second spent there together.
He loves to stand on the chair near the window and watch the people coming and going from the beach, or take walks on the beach with the family. Thank you for making our family beach trips memorable for all of us and allowing us to bring our best friend along.
We recommend you to all our friends with dogs and will continue to return for many years to come.
A HUGE thank you to the Martin Family! For the kind words, staying with us, letting us meet Dexter
and have him as our guest and for recommending us to others! Looking forward to your next visit!

A Special Tribute to a Special Dog....LUCY

Lucy has been coming to The Looking Glass Inn for the past 6 years with her family with September 2010 being the most recent trip. Unfortunately, she passed away on November 8. She is missed dearly. We loved bringing our WHOLE family to The Looking Glass ... including Jared, Melanie, Rebekah, Jennah, Emilie and Heath ... and our other dog Calamity Jane (Callie). We look forward to our visits every year, but we must say the next one is going to be a little bittersweet. Lucy has been a part of our family for 11 1/2 years and we miss her everyday. MaryAnn, the manager at The Looking Glass, has been a blessing to us in this very difficult time. She offered much support to us after going through her own loss of Joelle. We are going to miss seeing Joelle when we come to visit. Thank you again for all the support and we hope to see you soon.

Love and Blessings,
Melanie

This is Lucy!
And this was a difficult post for me to make. This little gal is not only special but she belonged to a special family also. A family that the Lord God intrusted to care for her. The loss of a dog is so difficult to bare, truly a struggle that changes us as much as having a dog in our life to care for does.

Something we forgot to post from Colby...

The room was wonderful and the view! It was super clean and very nice. Can't thank you enough that you are very pet friendly and accommodating. Will stay there again and recommend you to others. Thank you again for such a wonderful experience.

Gorgeous Henley

Henley is a beautiful Golden Retriever and this is her little friend Lilly she met when she stayed with us at the Looking Glass. Henley's family says we provide a unique service here! :)

Meet Max

Max hasn't been back to the Looking Glass in a while now and we miss seeing him. He is soooo cute!

Stoli says...

I'm so tired, I played on the beach to long I think.

A Heartfelt Goodbye to Mia

These are the fine parents of Mia! With their two  amazing children they went camping to Lopez Island in the San Juan's this past summer. This was their last family vacation with Mia. :(

Mia has been a guest of the Looking Glass pretty much from the first day we opened the doors. She passed away in August of this year. Mia had such a gentle and calm spirit, truly one of our favorite dog guests here. We already miss seeing her! :(

Winter is Going..... :(

This is a special photo of my puppy Winter.
She is looking out at the ocean from the grasslands
she loves the most.

This amazing German Short Hair Pointer is being relocated to live with a very special family in Lebanon Oregon. A family with 2 little boys and that wants to hunt birds with her.

Winter is a hunting dog and a family dog that needs a lot more attention, challenge and exercise then I knew of. I purchased her before researching her breed and now that I know more about her, I know she will be happier with this special family from Lebanon. They pick her up on Tuesday, October 26 and at just 4 months old it will be very difficult to say goodbye to my special puppy but I believe it is the right thing to do.
Mary Ann

This is Callie!

Callie was our guest this past September. She is special and looks so cute with her Looking Glass Dog Scarf on. Her and Winter had so much fun together!

This is Winter admiring Callie, how beautiful she is.

Winter is Coming!!

Check this little girl out!
Her name is Winter and she will join the staff at the Looking Glass Inn in mid August as the Manager's new dog! She's a German Shorthair Pointer bred at 2vkennels in Wallowa Oregon.
You can check out these fine folks at http://www.2vkennels.com/ and you can meet Winter at the Looking Glass any time you stay after mid August!

Hi! My name is Rosie!

We spent our 1st weekend in Lincoln City over Memorial Day and had a wonderful time staying at the Looking Glass Inn.... so did our 9 month old yellow lab, Rosie. She really enjoyed her first hotel visit. From the welcome basket, the dog friendly areas around the hotel, to the quick walk to the beach, it was the perfect place to bring her. Thanks so much for a wonderful weekend!
We'll for sure be back for another visit soon!

A Note From The Camillo's & Noodles

I just want to thank you for such a wonderful time when we stayed with you in May. My husband and I had stayed with you before, but we brought along our Pembroke Welsh Corgi this time around. He had a blast and really enjoyed being papered while he was there. Here is a couple of pictures for your doggie blog. He enjoyed staring out the window and seeing the ocean and then also resting in the sand on the beach. Thank you again for such a wonderful time and we will be back. Noodles, our corgi, especially enjoyed eating his Beggin' Strips for breakfast on Saturday morning. Thank you again!

Jake was here in June!

Here is Jake with his new Looking Glass Inn bandanna!
He even took one back home and gave it to his neighbor and best girlfriend! How sweet is that!?

His parents said that they tell everyone they know about the Looking Glass Inn and they asked us to never change. Sounds like they had a great time too!

Say hi to Sadie!

We want to thank you so much for the comfortable and very enjoyable stay at your establishment and that includes our little 1 year old puglet Sadie. She loves sitting on my lap and watching the sun set from our beautiful view room. Speaking of Sadie, here is the picture I took of her next to the flowers by your office. It really turned out great! Thank you again for making us feel so welcome. We'll see you again next year.

This is Button!

Button is a new guest of the Looking Glass and his 3rd visit with us will be in July.
We sure look forward to having him back!
He is special!

This is a note his parents sent us:   "Thank you for a wonderful time. The room we had was great. We and our little pug Button truly had lots of fun. We enjoyed the location and the breakfast. Everyone was very helpful and so kind. We are already planning to return after just leaving. We had a great vacation because of people that care about people. You are all very gracious hosts." Thank you!
